We get asked all the time, “Who’s Joanne?” The simplest answer is she’s our mother. She was and always will be the inspiration behind our success as the matriarch of la famiglia.
Our parents first met in New York in 1958, both newly immigrated teenagers from Sicily.
They were the classic love story: A strong work ethic combined with traditional multi-generational Italian recipes meant they could accomplish anything together.

They opened their first pizzeria in Brooklyn in 1964. She created most of the menu items our customers love so much, based on her culinary skills and tried-and-true Italian family recipes.
Naturally my dad would name it after her: Joanne’s Pizza.

The Next Generation: Gourmet Pizza and Traditional Italian Meals
Today, Joanne’s Gourmet Pizza is run by the next-generation of sons carrying on the family values of:
Making each sauce from scratch; something our competitors don’t do
Quality is more important than cost so we use the freshest, local produce
Making consistent recipes so you always get the taste you’re craving
Providing a clean environment for our employees and customers
Giving great service accompanied by a grateful smile
Maintaining our family traditions while innovating for the future
As our contribution, we’ve also added the largest selection of gourmet pizzas on Long Island to those family recipes.
Where else can you go to choose such exotic and delicious selections like Spicy Buffalo Wing Pizza, Honey Dijon Chicken Pizza, Lasagna Pizza, Penne Ala Vodka Pizza, or Baked Clam Pizza, among others? How about a gourmet pizza slider? Maybe you’re in the mood for our cheeseless gourmet pies such as Joanne’s Salad Pizza, Grill Eggplant Pizza, Dieter’s Delight, or a Vegetarian Pizza?
Choose from traditional, thin, whole wheat, and gluten-free crusts (9” size) to match any dietary restriction. To prevent accidental peanut allergies, no peanut oil is used in any of our recipes.
Our in-house Chef oversees the execution of our classic Italian recipes. These include garden fresh salads, appetizers, wings, homemade soups, cold and hot heroes, paninis, calzones, whole wheat wraps, pasta, seafood, as well as chicken, veal, eggplant, and shrimp entrees.
